Dear tumblr,
My name is Carolyn, and I’m a Sophomore rising Junior at the Rhode Island School of Design, (RISD), studying Film/Animation Video, (FAV), and minoring in Politics and Policy at Brown University. This is my blog - a compilation of personal posts, dream logs, rants, and interests - all of which range from punk rock, hardcore, to chinchillas, tattoos, Kat Von D, and Pugs. I really fucking love pugs, so if you don’t want like 20 pugs a day on your dashboard I’d re-evaluate following me.
I’m an Aries, and strongly identify with my sign, in addition to my entire astrological chart. I’m an Virgo Ascending, Gemini Moon, and Aries sun. My venus is also in Pisces. Hence my blog title Necronom ♍ : ♈ : ♊, (virgo, aries, gemini). I constantly post things about being an Aries, and other zodiac signs I find relevant to myself or people in my life. Daily horoscopes I usually find are just tons of horse shit, but the actual characteristics of particular signs is too dead on to not be relevant/legitimate in any way.
My tumblr is not even a year old, and it took me awhile to even figure out how it worked and what its purpose/function was. If you go back to my very first couple of posts I approached tumblr as a way to log my dreams in hopes of having lucid dream experiences. Well that faded fast as I am great at initiating projects but terrible most of the time at seeing them through. It’s something I’m working on.
So what does Necronom even mean?
Necronom is in reference to a series of work by Swiss artist H.R. Giger, who remains of my biggest artistic and intellectual influences. His work is inspired by his frequent suffering from night terrors, and his pieces are pseudo-sexual, involving bio-mechanical female forms, often wich are intertwined with one another. He often explores this idea of the ‘parasitic’, and ‘the host’. His paintings are all entirely airbrushed and absolutely flawless. His industrial design work is also quite remarkable. If anyone has seen the movie Alien - the Alien was completely based off of Giger’s own creation. That series speaks to me in particular, and I thought the combination of both Necronom with the three main astrological signs in my chart was an appropriate title for my blog - summed me up rather well.
Just some quick things about me -
My birthday is April 6th, and I’m currently 20 years old. Favorite colors are red, blue, black. I’m 5’3, and have blue eyes, even though most contest and say I have green. I fucking love hardcore and punk rock - favorite bands include leftover crack, black flag, calabrese, gutter demons, blitzkid, misfits, etc. but I really love all kinds of music. I’m part Japanese and Spanish, with some Irish thrown in the mix. I fucking love to talk and will rant forever. I’m incredibly detail oriented, and over analyze a lot. I like meeting new people and making new friends so don’t be a stranger and talk to me!
I take a serious interest in those who follow me and please introduce yourself. I don’t know how ya’ll put up with my dumb personal posts and pug shit. You guys are great.
